Local Training Organization
The key activities conduced were ToTs on Community Action Planning and Monitoring for Panchayati Raj, GO, NGO functionaries. About 250 participants were trained in preparing 5 days community action plan and monitoring training under Uttarakhand Rural Water Supply and Sanitation program
Establish Demand Driven Sustainable eco friendly Livelihood mechanism
The main activities under the project were baseline and prefeasibility study to identify suitable livelihood activities based on micro or pico hydro energy, Formation of community groups willing to participate in sustainable livelihood activities, Training of groups in institutional development, accounting, documentation, business plan development, facilitate mechanical upgradation of traditional watermills, backward and forward linkage establishment, market research and analysis and facilitate marketing of the watermill processed items.
Innovative Energy Solution with Ultra Low Head Micro Hydro Technology for Productive Assets Creation
The project aims to increase the access of rural communities to renewable electricity in the State of Uttarakhand, India through demonstrating, deploying and transferring the Ultra-Low Head Micro Hydro Power technology for productive purposes. In addition to this, it intends to build institutional capacities through networking and awareness raising activities on market opportunities to mainstream this innovative technology.
Community Awareness and participation program under Uttarakhand Urban Sector Development
The main task carried out under the water and sanitation project were interface between govt and communities that includes, community group formation, community awareness, ensuring participation, IEC material designing, development and distribution, solid waste management, ensure social and environmental safeguards, initiated income generation activities, training and capacity building of group, individual and grievances redressal.
Awareness, management of Solid & Liquid waste
Engagement of community key person and Panchayat representatives in solid & liquid waste management campaign, Door to door campaign to aware residents on solid & liquid waste management specially plastic waste, Encourage residents to use non plastic carry bag for day to day activities, Information education and communication (IEC) campaign in schools, community, tourism and religious places, Installation of waste containers at house and community level, Segregation and bio and non bio waste.
Formation, skill trainings & capacity building of Women Self Help Groups
The key activities were community awareness, capacity building, formation of women groups, skill trainings in saving, inter loaning, credit management, documentation, entrepreneurship trainings, formation of federation and marketing of the products
Rural water and Sanitation survey
The issues covered under the study were status of water sources, water availability per capita, drinking water need, demand for water, status of environmental sanitation and household sanitary toilets.
Reproductive child health
The main tasks carried out under the project were awareness on Pre and Post natal care, immunization of women and child, Nutrition, health & hygiene education, environmental sanitation, family planning, advocacy, menstrual hygiene management, safe motherhood, training and capacity building of community workers, supervision monitoring and documentation
ToTs for Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA)
The main task carried out under the program was Designing of Training Module, Implementation of 15 batches of ToTs, management of training including logistic arrangement and documentation.
Female Foeticide Elimination and Birth Death Registration
Orientation meetings/ workshops with community based organization specially women groups, ICDS, Panchayat and Anganwadi workers. IEC activities- Nukkad natak, wall writing, poster, pamphlet design and development. Training and capacity building of the key stakeholders. Workshop/seminar with college students. Conduct PNDT meetings. Organize rally, quiz completion, exhibition, essay competitions, film show. Organize birth death registration camp. Advocacy workshops at state level
Preparation of Village Tourism Master Plan
Development of survey formats. Conduct Participatory survey in selected villages across different districts of Uttarakhand. Perform survey activities to determine agricultural, cultural, nature, adventure, cuisine, Eco tourism & historical aspects, etc. for expected and suggestive livelihood activities in the villages and infrastructure support required for the same. Infrastructural need with environment friendly and energy efficient techniques. Devised mechanism for solid waste management.
Promotion of Community Based Eco-Tourism Cluster
As a facilitating agency, the main activities conducted were - pre feasibility study to assess the potential of promotion of eco tourism activities in the cluster of 15 villages, community awareness, mobilization, formation of tourism management group, Eco tourism development samittee, Development of eco friendly tourist dwelling units in the cluster, skill training in bird watching, guiding, cooking, hospitality management, advocacy, networking, facilitation in basic infrastructure development and marketing support to enterprising communities, documentation and IEC material development.
Prayavaran Mitra Program
Students made aware, sensitized and helped to understand the underlying science, social issues and the ethical issues relating to sustainability and climate change. Strengthened knowledge and skills through hands on experience and projects about their immediate environment; their school, neighbourhood, village or city and national and international issues relating to sustainability and climate change. Facilitation strengthening of eco clubs in various schools. Engaged student in action projects related to sustainability and climate change to become agents of change. Encouraged, guide, train and facilitate students to become Paryavaran Mitras. Liaison with the District Education Officer and DIMC member secretary, school principals, teachers, etc. for the implementation of the program.
Establishing Market Linkages for Watermill Processed Agricultural products
Community awareness, mobilization and participation. Prefeasibility for finalization of watermills and the surrounding village. Market research and analysis for the watermill processed products. SHG formation, strengthening and formation of SHG's federation for business promotion. Product identification and Development of Value added product. Supply, value chain analysis and management. 20 Training and capacity building of SHGs members. Business plan development for each products. Establish linkages with marketing agencies. Marketing of the products. Up gradation of the watermill.
Establishment of Demand Driven Improved Water Mill (IWM) Clusters
Identify existing/potential demand/livelihood activities that can utilize the mechanical and/or electrical output available from IWMs in the selected district. Assess the feasibility of a cluster of IWMs addressing the demand(s) identified above. Develop a detailed project report for proposed intervention model based on the above feasibility studies that link the cluster of IWMs to specific livelihood activities. Develop a Business plan for local self help groups. Training and capacity building of the watermill owner and SHGs. Implementation of the DPR.
Training of Youths for the Entrepreneurship Development
The key activities were taken under the project. Training need identification, Designing of training modules, implementation of more than 25 (3 to 5 days) livelihood related training program for entrepreneurs, established small enterprises, facilitated backward and forward linkages.
Demonstration, Training and Extension Center for Ecotourism Promotion
The main activities under the project were demonstration of low cost environmental friendly technology to eco tourism training center, community mobilization, awareness, identification of potential home stay tourism entrepreneurs, help in business plan development, skills training to entrepreneurs, linkages with tourism promotion govt schemes, capacity building and marketing of tourism facilities created by community members..
Promotion of women livelihood program
Formation of self help groups. Initiative to demonstrate community led initiatives in DRR; initiatives that designed by communities particularly by women and which enable them to increase their awareness of their vulnerabilities and to address these vulnerabilities through collective risk mapping, identification of priorities, planning, implementation secure livelihood activities
Development of Angora Wool Sector for Tribal Communities
The key activities were community awareness, mobilization for Angora rabbit rearing, capacity building of farmers, formation of women groups, promotion of Angora rabbit farming, weaving, knitting, wool processing skill trainings, entrepreneurship trainings, value addition and marketing of the Angora wool products
